Vbackup

Common User Interface

In conjunction with VCL, Vbackup provides a common command set and interface for users familiar with OpenVMS BACKUP.

Network Operation

Vbackup optionally reads from or writes to tapes or disks on remote network-accessible systems using standard UNIX and Linux or (with VCL) OpenVMS remote file syntax.

Media Error Recovery

Vbackup's error recovery mechanism protects against data loss by automatically detecting media errors and reconstructing corrupted data.
